1. Who we are

SeenBy is operated by Abhishek Jain, a sole trader based in Ireland (“we”, “us”, “our”). We operate the website seenbyresume.com. For any privacy-related queries, contact us at support@seenbyresume.com.

2. What data we collect and why

We collect the minimum data necessary to provide the service:

Resume text and job description

Processed solely to generate your optimised resume. Not stored after processing. Generated PDFs are held for up to 24 hours for download, then permanently deleted.

Legal basis: Contract performance

Browser fingerprint

A one-way hash derived from your browser and device characteristics (screen size, timezone, language, canvas rendering). Used to track your 3 free optimizations and link paid access to your device without requiring an account.

Legal basis: Legitimate interest (fraud prevention, service delivery)

IP address hash

A one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address. Stored alongside free usage records to prevent abuse of the free tier. Your raw IP address is not retained beyond the immediate request.

Payment data

Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment, your email address, and the tier purchased. We never see or store your card details.

3. AI processing disclosure

SeenBy uses OpenAI (GPT-4.1-mini) to rewrite resume language for ATS keyword matching. Your resume text is sent to OpenAI for processing and is subject to OpenAI's privacy policy. The AI never fabricates experience, credentials, or metrics — it only restructures and reframes what you have already provided.

4. How long we keep your data

  • Resume text and job descriptions: deleted immediately after processing
  • Generated PDFs: deleted within 24 hours
  • Free usage records (fingerprint hash, IP hash): retained for 12 months
  • Paid access records: retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance

5. Third parties

We share data with the following third parties only as necessary:

  • OpenAI — resume and job description text for AI processing
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Supabase — database hosting (EU region)
  • Vercel — website hosting and serverless functions

We do not sell your data to any third party.

6. Your rights under GDPR

As a data subject in the EU/EEA, you have the right to:

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Erasure — request deletion of your data
  • Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
  • Portability — receive your data in a structured format
  • Object — object to processing based on legitimate interest

To exercise any of these rights, email support@seenbyresume.com. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Supervisory authority

If you believe we have not handled your data correctly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish Data Protection Commission (DPC) at dataprotection.ie.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of SeenBy after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
